Adrie Tachoir took his first top ten position in a national tournament.

The Dutch billiard has Glenn Hofmann (21), the Belgians in the free game Andy de Bondt (17) and the French billiard can be proud of the only fifteen year old Adrien Tachoir. The young man from Argenteuil near Paris took a beautiful tenth place this weekend in a national tournament with all top players in Laxou. The average was promising: 0984.

Pierre Soumagne won the tournament after a thrilling final against Jean Reverchon (40-36 in 32). The semi finals were even more sensational: Pierre Soumagne defeated Jerôme Barbeillon 40-39 in 36 and Jean Reverchon beat Jérémy Bury with a score of 40-38 in 37 innings.

Adrien Tachoir, studying at the college, was the biggest revelation of the tournament. He won three matches, one with an average of 1.429 against Marc Boingneres, and was only defeated by Jérémy Bury.

He has two other hobbies, tennis and skiing, but wants to build up career in the billiard. ,,I began already on my ninth year with billiard'', he told. ,,when I went with my father to the club in Argenteuil. Now I have Richard Bitalis as my teacher in three cushion and my father in the free game and balkline.''

The tournament in Laxou was Adrien Tachoirs second big performance, in the Masters tournament in Chatillon he was 24th with an average of 0.810.
