Agipi arena stage for world top

SCHILTIGHEIM - The Belgian league has its new champion since Tuesday. The Dutch teams will compete later this month in playoffs with four teams for the championship. This weekend (on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May), the four seeded teams in France battle for the titel in the Agipi arena in Schiltigheim.

At the end of the regular season, the team Agipi team was the first in the ranking, followed by BC Andernos, Kozoom and Laxou. With its fantastic team (Caudron, Zanetti, Bury and Roux) Agipi is again the absolute favorite to conquer the French title.

The four teams, with great players like Torbjörn Blomdahl, Frédéric Caudron, Dick Jaspers, Marco Zanetti, Jérémy Bury, Filippos Kasidokostas, Martin Horn and Roland Forthomme meet on Saturday in the semifinals. Six of sixteen players who come on the stage in Agipi, are in the top ten of the world rankings.

Andernos plays on Saturday against Kozoom, Agipi against Laxou. That last match was last year's final of the championship. Agipi won 6-2.

Martin Horn was the only winner for Laxou in his match against Marco Zanetti. Andernos and Kozoom played for third place, with a special match between Peter De Backer and Filippos Kasidokostas, won by the Belgian 50-46 in 16 innings.

Frédéric Caudron, leader of the favorite Agipi foursome and Dick Jaspers (Andernos) faced each other already in the Belgian league on Tuesday during the match between BC Deurne and De Goeie Queue. Caudron won after having closed a big backlog by a fourteen run.

15.00: Jérémy Bury (Agipi)-Pierre Soumagne (Laxou) and Jean-Christophe Roux (Agipi)-Eric Kremer-Leclaire (Laxou)

17.00: Frédéric Caudron (Agipi)-Torbjörn Blomdahl (Laxou) and Marco Zanetti (Agipi)-Martin Horn (Laxou)

Sunday:

9.00: Third and fourth place between the numbers 3 and 4 of the losing teams.

11.00: Third and fourth place numbers 1 and 2.

13.30: Final between the numbers 3 and 4 of the two winning teams.

15.30: Final between the numbers 1 and 2.
