The Agipi trophee was won through the years by the greatest players in the world of three cushion

SCHILTIGHEIM - The famous Agipi billiards arena in Schiltigheim is hosting for the last time a great event this weekend: the battle for the French team championship with the top three finishers in the league. The teams that have qualified are Agipi, the reigning champion, Laxou and Andernos. And because it's the last match for Agipi , the other two teams have already qualified for the European preliminaries next year.

The French league, played with five teams this year, will get a boost next year. The intention, for the time being, is a league with eight teams divided into two groups of four. All eight participants are not yet known, but two newcomers will probably show up:

Morangis/CetSi, consulting and computing systems (with Eddy Merckx, Eddy Leppens, Richard Bitalis and Jean Reverchon, the previous Clichy team).
St. Maur in a line-up which is not officially confirmed until now. The names that were mentioned hitherto were Frédéric Caudron, Glenn Hoffman, Louis Edelin and Joel Switala.

The other participants in the competition are supposedly Laxou, Andernos, Albert, Gravelines and two teams coming from the second division.

The program of the last French championship, with an emotional farewell of the Agipi arena, from Saturday 9.00 to Sunday 18.00 is:

Saturday 9.00 am: Andernos - Laxou: Jean-Paul Six-Francis Connesson, Pierre Soumagne-Jérôme Barbeillon, followed by Roland Forthomme-Martin Horn and Filippos Kasidokostas-Torbjörn Blomdahl.

Saturday 15.00: Agipi (Jean-Christophe Roux, Jérémy Bury, Marco Zanetti, Frédéric Caudron) against the loser of the first game.

Sunday 14.00 am: Agipi against the winner of the first match.

All matches are broadcast live by Kozoom for Premium pass holders.
