ANDERNOS LES BAINS - Spectators and internet surfers were treated to a superb finish to in the first one cushion tournament of the season in Andernos-les-Bains.
The 120 points, scored in 8 innings, even were not enough to decide the match between Alain Remond, the champion of France and his opponent Pierre Soumagne. The extension after the draw was fatal to Soumagne, which could bring only three points against fifteen for Remond.
Alain Remond in this manner won the the tournament with the best average in one match (16.88). The best overall average was credited to Peter Soumagne with 8.89, who also made the highest run: 85. Pascal Dessaint and Nicolas Gerassimopoulos completed the platform with respectively 7.55 and 6.97 of average.
The next national tournament will be held 3-5 December in Chartres, also with 24 players.
