Frédéric Caudron on his way to his third title in the balklines.

To win his third Belgian title Frederic Caudron needed last night two innings, but it didn't make the final shot of the champion in the 71/2 less impressive. The mistake in the first inning (a zero) against Peter de Backer, inspired him in the second walk to the table to make a glossy run of 250.
Frédéric Caudron so grabbed his third title in the balkline after the first in 47/2 and 47/1. In his last match for this discipline he remained unbeaten. The overall average was certainly not as high as that of Peter Niessen, who only lost his game against Caudron. Niessen ended up with 75.09 and two runs of 211, Caudron with 66.66 and last night made his maximum run of 250.
It was anyway for the experts on the full tribunes a great experience in the late night. Because while Caudron was running around for his run of 250, Patrick Niessen also scored at the other billiard as a machine gun. They both showed once again that they were the absolute stars of this tournament in the balklines.
Peter de Backer finished third with two match points and an average of 35.25, Philippe Deraes fourth with 26.50 and Eddy Leppens fifth with 23.50.
