Danish player Anders Henriksen took the first title: in free game under 21

RONCHIN - The Danish junior Anders Henriksen is the first European billiard champion this year. In the free game final under 21 at the multi-championships in Ronchin, Henriksen took the final against Frenchman Pierre Martory 300-1 in one inning. He was the first player for the highest stage in the French city, where the Euro Youth and the European ladies cup are played this weekend.

The finals in the other championships are on the schedule for tomorrow. The Spanish defending champion Carlos Anguita is facing the Greek Dimitrios Seleventas in the early morning at 9 in three cushion under 21. The Frenchman Gwendal Marechal plays against the Belgian Stef van Hees. The two Dutch contenders, Joey de Kok and Michael Vink, were eliminated by Anguita and Seleventas 30-24 in 30 and 30-21 in 29 innings. Stef van Hees was the best winner in the quarter finals: the Belgian defeated Alperen Cebeoglu from Turkey 30-19 in 24 innings.

In the free game under 21, with Anders Henriksen as the winner, the Dutchman Jordy Jong was eliminated by the later champion in the semi-finals 300-19 in 3. Pierre Martory and Stef van Hees played a draw, 300-300 in two innings. The Frenchman took the shootout.

Frenchman Maxime Panaia and Frenchman Nathan Duriez play the final in three cushion under 17 after victories over Dimitrios Seleventas and Nikolaus Kogelbauer. The final is tomorrow at 11.30.

In the free game under 17, the Dutchman Nick Dudink faces the German Jan Sellhast and the Belgian Jelle Billiet plays against the Frenchman Djason Ponthieu in the semi-finals. The final is at 9.00.

The semi-finalists at the Euro ladies cup are also known: the Dutch Monique van Exter was the best winner in the quarter finals: she beat Aurore Bellens 150-42 in 2 innings with a run of 137. The Belgian Karolien Matthijs triumphed against Heike Hingerl from Austria: 150-4 in 4 innings. Magali Declunder from France defeated Véronique Ales 150-7 in 5, the Dutch Christel Willemse bested the French Céline Jacques 150-91 in 19.
