The Spanish championship is waiting for the final.

PAIPORTA - Antonio Ortiz and Sergio Jimenez will play the final in the Spanish championship this afternoon. Both players are for the first time in the finals as senior players. Sergio Jimenez defeated Jaime S. Faraco in the semifinals 50-42 in 39 innings (1.282 average). Antonio Ortiz reached the semifinals by defeating José Maria Màs 50-40 in 26 innings, averaging 1.923.

Antonio Ortiz is a 22-year-old player from Paiporta, where the Spanish championship is played. He took in his young career the golden medal at the European championships for juniors in 2007 and the bronze medal in the under 21 World championship in 2007.

Sergio Jimenez is 27 years old, he lives in Barcelona. He took silver in the Spanish championship in 2003 and 2008 and was the European junior champion in 2003. Jimenez also won silver at the European championships for teams.

The final will be played at 17.00.
