Eddy Leppens seems to warn Peter De Backer before the match

BLANKENBERGE - The Belgian championship all disciplines is almost three days underway. And if Eddy Leppens had the intention to shine in two or three games, he needs a little miracle. Three times he came to the table so far, in all those games he closed the match with a loss.

Two times, Peter De Backer was the black beast for Leppens today: first 200-169 in the balk-line 47/1, later in the afternoon with 150-109 in one cushion.

And Frédéric Caudron disrupted the illusions of Leppens on Monday in one cushion: 150-86 in eight innings.

Peter De Backer, of whom it is known that he rarely makes training hours, nonetheless is one of the feared competitors for the top players. Two wins against Leppens have shown that De Backer has rapidly improved his form. And because Patrick Niessen already lost one game in one cushion, De Backer can be considered as the big rival for Caudron.

Patrick Niessen, Andy de Bondt and Johan Claessen are leading the ranking in free game with each one victory. Philippe Deraes, Johan Claessen and Patrick Niessen gathered two match points in one round 47/2.

Frédéric Caudron and Patrick Niessen lead in the 47/1 with two points, Peter De Backer won his duel with Leppens, but lost to Patrick Niessen.

Caudron and Niessen are on top in the 71/2, with Devos, Deraes and Ravestyn as opponents.

Rest of the matches today in these disciplines:
Free game: 18.00: Niessen-Claessen, De Bondt-Deraes.
Balk-line 47/2: 18.00 Niessen-Claessen, 20.30: Leppens-Deraes.
71/2: 20.30: Niessen-Devos
One cushion: 18.00: Caudron-Forton.
