Battle is fully open after first round

VIERSEN - The Turkey's A and B team are in balance after the first matches in the losers round. The encounter ended in 2-2. Turkey A has has a slightly better average (1.454) than the B team (1.424).

Sweden and Vietnam also played a draw in their first match of the group in which the Netherlands is the other opponent. Sweden has a much better team average: 1.595/1.086.

In the Turkish bump Lütfi Cenet defeated Murat Naci Coklu (2-0), but Adnan Yüksel (B-team) leveled the score by beating Tayfun Tasdemir 2-0.

Torbjörn Blomdahl and Vu Anh Duong needed a decisive set at 1-1, just like Michael Nilsson and Xuan Cuong Ma at the other table. Blomdahl triumphed 2-1 after a stunning finish (15-0 in 5 innings in the third set), Ma defeated his opponent 2-1 and helped Vietnam to a draw.

Tomorrow (Saturday 11.00) the Netherlands starts in the group against Vietnam and Spain against Turkey B. The Dutch team and Spain continue at 13.30 respectively against Sweden and Turkey A.
