Belgian dream team gets ready for the Worlds in Viersen

VIERSEN - The world champions Eddy Merckx and Frédéric Caudron will meet in the qualifying rounds of the World championship for national teams in the group stage Luxembourg and the Czech Republic. The championship, in the Festhalle in Viersen, Germany, is played with 24 teams from all over the world, divided into eight groups of three. The defending champion, Belgium, the host country Germany and Turkey are presented by two teams.

The world championship for national teams is held in the Festhalle from 18 to February 21, 2016.

The Belgians, with their dream team Merckx/Caudron, are the main title favourite, based on the wonderful performance in the last three years. VIERSEN - The world champions Eddy Merckx and Frédéric Caudron play in the qualifying rounds of the World Cup for national teams in a group with Luxembourg and the Czech Republic. For the World Cup were selected 24 teams in total, divided into eight groups of three. The defending champion, Belgium, the host country Germany and Turkey delegate two teams. The world championship for national teams is held in the Festhalle in Viersen from 18 to February 21, 2016.

The Belgians with their dream team Merckx/Caudron are based on the wonderful performance in the last three years the main contender. The other strong teams are Germany A with Martin Horn and Stefan Galla, Turkey A with Semih Sayginer and Lütfi Cenet, South Korea with HaengJik Kim and Jae Guen Kim, Netherlands with Dick Jaspers and Jean van Erp, Spain with Dani Sanchez and Ruben Legazpi, Sweden with Torbjörn Blomdahl and Nalle Olsson and Belgium B with Eddy Leppens and Jef Philipoom.

Denmark with Jakob Haack Sörensen and Brian Zola Hansen
Greece with Nikos Polychronopoulos and Kostas Kokkoris
Italy with Marco Zanetti and Fabrizio Cortese
Germany B with Christian Rudolph and Dustin Jäschke
Turkey B with Can Capak and Hakan Incekara
Ecuador with Luis Aveiga and Javier Teran
Peru with Cristopher Tevez and Jose Torreblanca
Japan with Ryuuji Umeda and Hideaki Kobayashi
Egypt with Sameh Sidhom and Riad Nady.

The group format:

Group A: A Belgium, Luxembourg and Czech Republic.

Group B: Germany A, Switzerland and Peru

Group C: Turkey A, Portugal and Ecuador

Group D: South Korea, France and Greece

Group E: Netherlands, Egypt and Norway

Group F: Denmark, Italy and Belgium B

Group G: Spain, Austria and Germany B

Group H: Japan, Sweden and Turkey B.

The opening ceremony is on Thursday, February 18th at 11.00.
Tournament director is Kurt Dahlhaus
DBU (German federation) is the organizer.
The playing system will be announced later. The schedule is under the regulations of the World championship for national teams.
