Dick Jaspers got the better of Tayfun Tasdemir 40-35 in 17.

RAVENSBURG/MUNICH - The German league has been kicked off with a loss for the reigning champion Ravensburger against Magdeburg, a narrow victory of Bergisch Gladbacher vs BF Sterkrade (6-2) and the maximum score for BC Munich against BCC Witten. The Dutch players Jean Paul de Bruijn and Dick Jaspers started with the best match in the opening round: 40 in 17 innings.

The champion Ravensburger was defeated by Magdeburg in its first home match of the season. The two leaders, Dick Jaspers and Dion Nelin, jumped to victory after the break against Tayfun Tasdemir and Murat Naci Coklu. Markus Schönhoff got third win against Ismail Inal (40-36 in 30), Murat Gökmen was the only winner for the champion.

Dick Jaspers snatched the win at the end of the match against Tayfun Tasdemir 40-35 in 17 and Dion Nelin is still among the giants in his better day: he defeated Murat Naci Coklu 40-22 in 20.

BC Munich had the best start in the home match against BCC Witten (8-0). Johann Schirmbrand and Christos Chistodoulidis had even better averages on three and four than the leaders Marco Zanetti and Javier Palazón. The Itaian defeated Savas Bulut 40-38 in 30, the Spaniard overran Ronny Lindemann 40-22 in 27. The two Germans in the team, Schirmbrand and Chistodoulidis won their matches in 23 innings.

Jean Paul de Bruijn opened strongly for BC Elversberg with a clearcut victory over his compatriot Gerwin Valentine 40-22 in 17 innings. Frédéric Caudron defeated Thorsten Frings 40-28 in 21. Klaus Bosel lost his match, despite a run of thirteen, against Barry van Beers 40-34 in 31 innings.

Bergisch Gladbacher grabbed its first win, amongt other by Nick Polychronopoulos, who was superior in his match against Ramazan Durdu (40-18 in 18). Martin Horn was surprisingly beaten by Thomas Broux (40-36 in 30), but Jens Eggers and Thomas Horcher were the winners for Bergisch: 6-2.

GT Buer took the win in the away match against BA Bottroper in which Christian Rudolph and Stefan Galla drew in a moderate match (40-40 in 42) and Markus Galla got the better against Anno de Kleine 40-30 in 35. Stafen Hetzel finished it off against Dustin Jäschke: 40-34 n 28.
