NEW YORK - The six best-ranked players in this field are seeded for the semi finals, 132 players start the engines now for the qualifying rounds in a roulette at the eleven billiard tables in the Verhoeven Open in New York. The long marathon of matches, in 22 groups of six players, starts today, Monday, as of 9.30 AM at the Carom Cafe in Flushing, New York. The matches in the preliminary rounds go to 25 caroms.

The two best players in the groups and three second best will return for the semi-finals with 56 players, in eight rounds of seven players to 30 points. The group winners and numbers qualify for the final with sixteen in a Round Robin battle.

Dani Sánchez, Dick Jaspers, Frédéric Caudron, Torbjörn Blomdahl, Sung-Won Choi and Jae-Ho Cho are seeded in advance.
