Lochem-During the 10th round of the National Championship for teams something very rare happend; both ranking-leader "Cubri/Etikon" as "YEL" lost a match. Cubri were lost in space in their confrontation with the almost relegated team "De Wellse Vaert". At the same moment the YEL morale dropped ernoumously, they assumed to lose 2 additional points and they expected the chances for the title to be gone. But, what they didn't know was that Cubri lost as well (Dick Jaspers: "What, Cubri/Etikon lost as well ?"). At the end it was a big relieve for two highest ranked teams, as expected they both won their second match and things stayed unchanged.
"Topteam 's Lands Welvaren" performed well by winning 2 times. Both Peter de Bree (47/2) as Frédéric Caudron (71/2) played a faultless match against "De Graafschap Biljarts". Frédéric Caudron played 100.00 avg Baulkline 71/2 for the day, got no resistance and scored point after point. The formation from Zeeland closed the gap with the rankingleaders to resp 6 and 7 points.
In Lochem it was a kind of estafette-run. "Buiting Staalconstructie" pulverized "The City T.T/Blitz Optiek", last mentioned team defeated "YEL" and at the end "YEL" turned out to be stronger than "Buiting Staalconstructie". So, the available 6 matchpoints were divided equally over the three teams. Remarkable was the good 1Cushion performance of Dick Jaspers (3 and 5 innings) and Dave van Geel (5 innnings), Jos Bongers could not contribute to this spectacle and was obligated to stay in his seat for quite some time. Raymund Swertz had to go home unsatisfied after two losses and definitely didn't show his normal good shape. Koen Workel however, won both his baulkline matches in front of his home crowd.
