Eddy Leppens took the maximum points for De Goeie Queue

MALLE - The Belgian league on the highest levels has three laps to go before the winter break. De Goeie Queue is firmly in the lead, four points ahead of BC Deurne and five of De Ploeg and Zanzibar. Eddy Leppens took the maximum match points for the leader (16). Dick Jaspers played the highest average (2.188), followed by Frédéric Caudron 1.881 and Eddy Leppens 1.860.

Today (Monday) and tomorrow the twelve teams start off in the ninth round, right before Frédéric Caudron, Eddy Leppens, Dick Jaspers and Roland Forthomme leave for the World Cup in Hurghada.

The main question this week: is BC Biljart Express ready for another stunt, in the away match against De Goeie Queue? And can it bring some tension in the top?

The Turnhout team has proven not to flinch for big names. BC Deurne was beaten at home, two weeks ago, 6-2. On that night only Dick Jaspers shone with a world class match against Frans van Kuyk (50-9 in 11 innings), but Eddy Merckx, Jean Paul de Bruijn and Ludo Dielis lost to Gerwin Valentijn, Martin Spoormans and Guy van Litsenborg.

De Goeie Queue and Biljart Express meet on Tuesday in the Salpho, BC De Ploeg is facing Op de Meir 2 that night.

The other four matches will take place tonight. BC Deurne travels to De Ploeg 2, that can be considered as a feared outsider. De Witte Molen seeks revenge for a heavy defeat last week and plays against BC Herentals.

Kon. Zanzibar meets Op de Meir 1 for its own audience and Mr. 100 Lier and Kon. Kortrijkse play for valuable points in the lower part of the rankings.

The program:

Monday:
KBC Zanzibar-BC Meir 1
Mr 100 Lier-Kon. Kortrijkse
BC Herentals-De Witte Molen
De Ploeg 2-BC Deurne

Tuesday:
BC Op de Meir 2-De Ploeg 1
De Goeie Queue-Biljart Express.
