Blomdahl-Caudron in Belgian top match

MERKSEM - The Belgian three-cushion league continues today (Monday, January 19th) with a full program for the thirteenth round. The match between the numbers one and two ranked teams is the eye-catcher. BC Deurne receives the glorious leader AEJ/De Goeie Queue with the top encounter two world class players facing each oter: Torbjörn Blomdahl and Frédéric Caudron.

There is another great match between two champions: Eddy Merckx, although he lost his Belgian title to Eddy Leppens and Jean van Erp, who took his first Dutch title on Sunday after victories against Dick Jaspers, Jean Paul de Bruijn and in the final match against Raimond Burgman. Dick Jaspers plays against Jef Philipoom in Deurne, Jean Paul de Bruijn against Davy van Havere.

De Goeie Queue has a six points-lead on BC Deurne, which is the same as BC Herentals. Op de Meir is one point further behind. The shared number two, Herentals, plays a home match against De Ploeg 2.

In the bottom half of the ranking, where two relegation places are at stake, Sint Truiden plays the important match against Biljartvrienden with the match between Frédéric Mottet and Raimond Burgman on centre court. Sint Truiden has five points, Biljartvrienden three points. Royal Bruges is the number last with two points and plays against Zanzibar.
