Blomdahl group winner in Anag cup

OLOMOUC - Torbjörn Blomdahl has qualified as group winner for the final round of the Anag Cup in Olomouc (Czech). The Swede won in his group both matchers with 2-1: het beat Frenchman Bernard Villiers and Czech Marek Faus.

Eddy Leppens and Wolfgang Zenkner also remained unbeaten.

Torbjörn Blomdahl started twice with a loss in the balkline 71/2: against Marek Faus 100-6 in two innings, vs Bernard Villiers 100-34 in 4. In one cushion and three cushion Blomdahl took the full match points. He won the one cushion (50 points) in six and eight innings and three cushion (15) in 17 and 12 innings.
Eddy Leppens defeated Xavier Gretillat 2-1 after Gretillat’s flawless perfromance in the 71/2 (100-18 in one inning). The Belgian then won one cushion 50-36 in three innings and three cushion 15-10 in 12.

Good-old Wolfgang Zenkner took the group win ahead of Raul Cuenca and Pavel Bohm, whom he both defeated 2-1. Arnim Kahofer won his last match of the day against Esteve Mata: after 100-100 in 71/2, the Austrian won one cushion 50-24 and three cushion 15-7.
