Torbjörn Blomdahl defeated Frédéric Caudron in Caseta Nova battle 87-60

CASTALLA - The clash between the two best players in the world, Frédéric Caudron and Torbjörn Blomdahl, has turned out into a superior win for the Swedish holder of the World Cup. In the Caseta Nova billiards arena, close to the Spanish coast, Blomdahl led the entire race. He defeated the Belgian world champion 87-60 in 40 innings.

The Swede therefor earned 2.175 euros at the gala performance and a gold bar, special engraved with the winner's name, Caudron took 1.500 euros. The match could be followed on pay-tv directly.

Torbjörn Blomdahl grabbed in Spain his second win against Frédéric Caudron in one week. Two days ago, in the French league, Blomdahl played for Laxou and won 50-32 in 19 innings. Caudron, eager for revenge, again had to admit the supremacy of Blomdahl in Spain.

The score balance between the two top players has been repaired more or less after Caudron was the better player in four matches last year. In the French league, the Belgian took three wins (twice 50-47 twice, once 50-44), in the Medellin World Cup he triumphed 40-27 and in the German league Caudron won 40-28 in fifteen innings.

The Swede showed a better form and feeling in the matches this week, in which he simply was the best. He was a bit more lucky than his opponent in decisive phases and took the initiative after the break.

Caudron trailed after six innings 18-7, but fought back to 24-22 (16). The best part of the match was in the eighteenth run, when Blomdahl scored a 12 and Caudron answered with nine.

At the break, Blomdahl led 45-33 (20), coming back to the table, he slowly ran out to a twenty points lead and after a ten-run even to 80-50 in 35. In the final sprint, Blomdahl scored seven times in five innings, Caudron ten times.
