Martin Horn has a final test for the Worlds against Eddy Merckx

VELBERT - The German league (bundesliga) is completing two rounds this weekend, which can be seen for the top players as a final test for the World championship in Antwerp. The reigning world champion, Eddy Merckx, meets with BSV Velbert the rank leader Bergisch Gladbach and is Martin Horn’s opponent.

Bergisch Gladbach is on top of the league after four rounds and tries to defend its pole position in its own house. On Sunday the leader has a day off. On Saturday the bundesliga completes five rounds, on Sunday four.

The champion and current number three, BCC Witten, goes for a long trip, along with GT Buer, to South Germany for a double encounter. Witten plays on Saturday the away match against BSV Munich, one day later Ravensburger is the opponent. GT Buer plays the opposite: against Ravensburger on Saturday, vs Munic on Sunday. Murat Naci Coklu is probably the captain in the Ravensburger team.

The Magdeburg team is looking for the first win after a poor start. Dick Jaspers will show up on Saturday against Sterkrade. On Sunday he plays in the Dutch league and then prepares for the Worlds in Antwerp. On the second day of the bundesliga, Bottroper is facing Magdeburg.
