Bundesliga leader is on its way to the title

BERGISCH-GLADBACH - The German top team Bergisch Gladbach is only one small step away from the titel in the bundesliga. The leader won its two matches in the penultimate double weekend in home matches against GT Buer and Bottrop BA and also benefited from Munich’s defeat on Saturday against Krefeld. Bergisch Gladbach leads by three poins now and plays against Munich and Ravensburg on 9-10 April.

BC Munich recovered with a victory over Sterkrade (3-5) on Sunday, Magdeburg and Elversberg are in the race for third place. BC Elversberg won 8-0 to GT Buer on Sunday.

Jean van Erp announced that he leaves Sterkrade and is looking for a new team. The world team champion with Dick Jaspers played an excellent season in Germany this year with over 1.700 average.

Bergisch defeated Bottrop 8-0 on Sunday with victories of Torbjörn Blomdahl over Christian Rudolph (40-18 in 19), Martin Horn against Dustin Jäschke (40-17 in 21), Nick Polychronopoulos against Norbert Öhagen (40-15 in 18) and Jens Eggers against Wiljan van den Heuvel (40-18 in 38).

Frédéric Caudron scored well for Elversberg against Frank Martens (40-22 in 23) and Jean Paul de Bruijn defeated Stefan Hetzel (40-33 in 38).

Marco Zanetti bested the Belgian Thomas Broux 40-33 in 24 including a run of 13. Ramazan Durdu was on his best with a draw against Dani Sánchez 40-40 in 30. Johann Schirmbrand was the best winner for Munich in 21 innings.
