Can Capak is the best in Republic Cup

ISTANBUL - In the municipality of Beylikdüzü, Istanbul, a special three cushion tournament was held, sponsored by Sport House Café. Can Çapak was the winner of the Republic Cup in a final battle against Sonar Tas: 40-36 in 28 innings.

The winner recorded 1.724 of average. The tournament was played with a total of 96 athletes, including a lot of Turkish top-ranked players like the World Cup winner Tayfun Taşdemir and Murat Naci Çoklu, Adnan Yüksel, Savas Bulut, Yilmaz Özcan, Gökhan Salman and Can Çapak.

On his way to the overall win, Çapak defeated from the third round Yilmaz Özcan, Turgay Oray, Savas Bulut and Mehmet Bolsu. In the final fight Çapak faced with Soner Tas.

The semifinals results were: Çapak-Bolsu 40-27 in 30, Tas-Salman 40-34 in 27.

Semih Saygıner handed the trophy during the ceremony.
