Caseta Nova and Paiporta tie in semi finals

Eddy Leppens started with a double win in his group.

PAIPORTA - The top meeting between Caseta Nova and Paiporta in group D of the semi-final in the Spanish championship for teams ended in a draw (4-4). The Portuguese player Saúl Corró won by surprise for Paiporta in his match against Tayfun Tasdemir. Francisco Unguetti defeated Javier Palazón 40-30 in 27 innings.

The other two matches ended in victories for Caseta Nova. Dani Sánchez left no doubt that he is with all his routine and quality a better player than the Spanish champion Antonio Ortiz (40-21 in 21 innings). Ruben Legazpi seems to be in a great shape: the number one in the Spanish ranking beat Salvador Verdu 40-13 in 25 and finished earlier on the day his match against Jose A. Pico in 37 innings.

Paiporta won the first match against Sierra Blanca 6-2. Te best player in that match was Antonio Ortiz, who defeated Per Kofoed 50-14 in 22 innings. Caseta Nova beat in his first meeting CE Idella 8-0 with a superb Tayfun Tasdemir. The Turk won 40-15 in seventeen innings against Jose Albert.

The home team of Gandia won his two matches in Group A against Betis Florida and Barcelona with a maximum score of 8-0. Alfonso Legazpi was the best man on Saturday with two wins and an overall average of 1.920. Eddy Leppens first defeated José Manuel Gómez Bravo with a difference of only one carom. Later that day he beat Xavier Minguell Rosello from Barcelona 40-27 in 17 innings. Sergio Jimenez reached the finish against Betis in 27 innings.

Gran Match lost the first match against Barcelona with a loss of captain Jean van Erp against Xavier Rosell (40-37 in 40). The team repared himself against Flordia with a maximum victory: 8-0.
