ZUNDERT - The final sprint was deciding over win or lose in the opening match of the day between Agipi and Andernos in the French play-offs. Jérémy Bury escaped with a narrow victory against Frédéric Motet (50-46) and Marc Boignères with a bigger margin against Jean-Christoph Roux (50-39), so that the games before the break kept the match in balance (2-2).

Agipi still had a lot of work to day in the second part, because Marco Zanetti needed a strong final shot against Peter De Backer, who was leading 25-19 after 25 innings. The Italian, always on his best when he is playing for his French team, found his rhythm just in time and finished 50-43.

Maybe the most surprising was the amazing performance of Marc Boignères, the Andernos number four, who played such an excellent match against Jean-Christoph Roux, finishing 1.563 average.

Frédéric Caudron, who ran away from Roland Forthomme with a magnificent run of eleven, saw his compatriot make a little come back in the match. However, the difference at the finish still was thirteen points: 50-37 in 23 innings, with 2.173 for Caudron, 1.608 for Forthomme.

The two teams meet again tomorrow in the 'return. Kozoom ánd Laxou are facing in the upcoming hours. The matches Jaspers-Blomdahl and Kasidokostas-Horn (around 20.00) are the highlights.
