HURGHADA - Two matches, one even more crazy than the other. That was the closure of the Friday evening, the day before the finals at the World Cup in Hurghada. The outcome was that Dani Sánchez plays in the semi-final on Saturday against Marco Zanetti (11.00 Egyptian time) and Frédéric Caudron against Lütfi Cenet at 13.00.
Frédéric Caudron was warned about for the Greek Kostas Papakonstantinos. ,,He not only had scored a run of sixteen, but also finished his last match in thirteen innings.'' The Belgian felt the breath of his opponent in his neck until the 11th inning (25-19), then came the strange part of the match in which the Greek missed ten times in a row.
,,My defense was good and I could continue scoring'', Caudron summarized the match, which he ended 40-26 in seventeen innings. The Belgian finished with eight, the Greek scored seven in the equalizer.
Lütfi Cenet and Choong Bok Lee took it up a notch: the Turk had a lead of almost twenty points after twelve innings (25-6), but gave his opponent a chance to come back and even to tie 33-33. The final phase was for Cenet again, who made his last point at 40-35. Lee then scored three times from the break: 40-38 in 25.
