Caudron and Horn share the points in topmatch

LOVENDEGEM - Two players in a great shape crossed swords on the tenth day of competition in Belgium. Martin Horn has not been beaten for weeks and is playing on a high level in each match. Frédéric Caudron is back after a little slump in a lesser period. He showed his beter form on Sunday in the Netherlands in his game against Dick Jaspers. The Belgian finished with a victory.


Caudron and Horn met each other last night in the match between BC Kasteeldreef and BC De Ploeg, two teams in the middle of the top division. Caudron made his 50th point in the 24th inning. Horn made the draw in the equalizer. The result for the match was that BC De Ploeg left the billiard room of the opponent with a victory. Eddy Leppens however won 50-30 in 28 innings against Allan Jensen. The other two matches resulted in victories for De Ploeg. Wesley Jaeger defeated Peter Duytschaever, Bart Ceulemans won his match against Peter Rodt.


The top match on day ten between BC Geox Herentals and KBC Zanzibar ended in a splendid victory for Zanzibar (0-8). The Zanzibar team was in a collective top form with a team average of 1.642. Roland Forthomme (50-37 against Dion Nelin) was the prowd leader with the best average: 1.923. Dave Christiani defeated Christian Rudolph (50-37 in 31), Jimmy Mues and Paul Stroobants left the opponent behind with the maximum loss rates.


BC Deurne shares the lead with KBC Zanzibar after their 6-2 victory against On the Meir. Eddy Merckx excelled in Deurne with 50 points in 21 innings and the highest break of the day with fourteen. Jef Philipoom defeated Rudy de Laet, Davy Havere walked over Kees Wittens and only Therese Klompenhouwer, who won the Dutch title for women on Sunday, lost her game against a strong playing Tom Persijn.
Koninklijke Kortrijkse was too strong for K. Eeklose (6-2). Best player for the home team was Richard Bitalis with 42 points in 28 innings (1,500 average).

Kurt Ceulemans shined in the match between Mister 100 and BC Biljart Express (4-4), beating Gerwin Valentijn 50-25 in 23 innings. Raymond also kept the points in Lier with a win over Guy van Litsemborg. Frans van Kuijk showed himself a prowd leader in the team of Biljart Express. The Dutchman defeated Peter Ceulemans 50-37.
