Frédéric Caudron, quick repair after a slow start in Seoul

SEOUL - The recovery was impressive, but still not enough for Frédéric Caudron to reach the quarterfinals at the LG U + Cup tournament in Seoul. The Belgian, after his modest start on the opening day, knocked down the Korean dark horse Seung-Jin Lee in for Europe early hours: 40-10 in 13. The result is that Caudron is third now in the group of four, Jérémy Bury and Jin-Pyo Hong are the numbers one and two.

The final round in this Group B is decisive for two places in the quarterfinals. Frédéric Caudron certainly needs a victory over Jérémy Bury, his teammate in France. The Frenchman still has to take care with two wins. He leads the group with four points and 1.633. Jin-Pyo Hong, with two match points, recorded the best average: 2.344. Caudron climbed to 1.871 after his victory against Lee.

Jérémy Bury had a stunning start in his match with Jin-Pyo Hong (34-12 in 8), then had a setback for a few innings and then suddenly was threatened by the Korean. The awesome final sprint, including a run of eleven, brought Hong back to 38-34. When the Frenchman finished in the fifteenth, Hong had to score five more in the extra time. He missed the equalizer, but still has good chances to qualify with one match to go against Seung-Jin Lee.

Frédéric Caudron, who played far below his level in his first match, dashed off in his second performance, showing his prime form with some spectacular points. The 13-run quickly gave him a big lead, the finish was excellent as well.

The ranking after two rounds in Group B:
1 Jérémy Bury 4-1.633-12
2 Jin-Pyo Hong 2-2.344-11
3 Frédéric Caudron 2-1.871-12
