1-Cushion
BLANKENBERGE - Thirteen times the title was for Frédéric Caudron in the last fifteen Belgian championships one cushion. The title holder was during that serie only in 1997 in Ghent and in 2003 in Blankenberge beaten by Peter de Backer. The record average of 27.27 was played by Caudron in 2007, this year he is of course the undisputed favorite to win.
In his whole career Caudron won even fifteen titles in one cushion in Belgium, because already in 1991 and 1992 he was the strongest. Those series were interrupted three times by Eddy Leppens.
Two of his four matches he won so far. His first against Forton Francis the champion won 150-91 in 9 innings and a run of 55. This morning he started the day with a victory over Patrick Niessen, his opponent in all disciplines except free game and three cushion.
Caudron controlled the match from the start, without big runs the match ended 150-75 in eight turns.
Later this day in one cushion Eddy Leppens will play against Patrick Niessen.
