Frédéric Caudron is in a blistering form already since the Luxor World Cup with his new Longoni cue

SCHILTIGHEIM - The highlight in the Agipi arena was saved for the last: Frédéric Caudron almost reached the finish with a grandiose run of 19 in his match against Roland Forthomme, but stumbled on one carom (49-29). The Belgian, who plays with his new Longoni cue since the Luxor World Cup, which he won, underlined his tremendous form and closed the match in 22 innings.

Marco Zanetti eventually did what was needed to not lose with Agipi. A win was required, because in this last regular match of the season, Andernos took a 4-0 lead before the break.

Frédéric Mottet defeated Jean-Christophe Roux in a very curious match. The Agipi player started off with an eleven run in the second inning, but then lost his control. Mottet could fight back, slightly took an advantage and won 50-23 in 36 innings.

In other words: Roux scored eleven times in one inning and in the other 35 innings only 12 times.

Peter De Backer led the basis for his victory over Jérémy Bury with an excellent run of fourteen. The Frenchman refused to surrender, but couldn't keep up with his opponent at the end: 50-45 in 27.

Frédéric Caudron and Roland Forthomme went straight up until 16-15 and 28-27 after eighteen innings. Then, Caudron's attack was devastating. He almost finished, coming from 30-29, but missed his last.

Marco Zanetti had a strong opening with 19-9 in ten, allowed Jérôme Barbeillon to be back at 28-26, but was the best in the final phase: 50-40 in 33.

Three teams will play the final round on 10 and 11 May in Agipi: the reigning champion Agipi, Andernos and Laxou.
