Jérémy Bury defeated Eddy Merckx with a wonderful final run of 11

SAINT-MAUR - The last encounter in the French regular three cushion season ended in a victory for the reigning champion CetSi Morangis in Saint-Maur: 6-2. The Parisians finished the competition as the group leader and play in the semi-finals of the playoffs against Laxou. Albert was second in this group and plays against Andernos.

The only loss for CetSi came from Eddy Merckx, who was defeated by Jérémy Bury. The French champion saved Saint-Maur's honour in an excellent performance. He shone among others with runs of 9 and 5 in the starting phase, when he took a 16-7 lead after six innings and 25-18 after 12. The Belgian returned in the match (34-33 in the 19th), but Bury made a wonderful and final run of eleven to close by 50-43 in 24.

Jean Reverchon sealed victory against Kévin Vasseur, who made his debut in the top division 50-42 in 42. Eddy Leppens was a way too strong for Thierry Roxo 50-27 in 28 and Richard Bitalis beat Louis Edelin 50-32 in 30.

Morangis recorded 1.556 average in this match, Saint-Maur 1.217. CetSi is group winner with 11 points and 1.572 overall, an excellent performance! Albert is second with 9 points and 1.268, Saint-Maur third with 5 points and 1.226 and Villeneuve d'Ascq fourth with no points and 0.926.
