Dion Nelin, with Tonny Carlsen to the quarter finals.

VIERSEN - With an extremely strong Chung Bok Lee as executioner against Murat Naci Coklu (2-0, 2.142 average) the verdict over the champion of last year has been sealed already. The Turkish team, defending the world title in Viersen, could pack his bags last night and go back to his country. South Korea was too strong in both matches. Especially Lee sparkled against Coklu, also Kyung-Roul Kim won 2-0 against Adnan Yüksel.

The Belgians have seeded themselves pretty easy for the quarter finals. They beat Italy 2-0, only the surprisingly strong Emilio Sciacca was a tough opponent for Merckx. The Belgian number three needed three sets to win. Eddy Leppens finished with an easy 2-0 over Michele Notarrigio with an average of 1.875.
The Turkish A-Team is still in the tournament after the win against Vietnam. Lütfi Cenet was defeated by Ly The Vinh (1-2), but Tayfun Tasdemir won 2-0 against Anh Vu Duong.

Netherlands B was eliminated by Denmark, which team had in Tonny Carlsen his best man.
