Christophe Zeidel, the interim president in France.

PARIS - It was known for some time on the sidelines that Claude Fath wanted to retire as president of the French Billard federation. He said recently during the Agipi Masters that he would quit after a period of eight years during the national assembly in June. But this weekend, Claude Fath has advanced his decision. He will be succeeded temporarily by Christophe Zeidel.

The decision was taken during a meeting of a steering committee, which was held in Rungis. Claude Fath motivated the decision by saying that due to his business activities there is less time available and the president no longer can perform with maximum effort.

Christophe Zeidel, the current vice president and president of the national sports committee, will be the interim president until the General Assembly on 18 and 19 June in Lievin. It is expected that he will be elected officially.
