RIJSBERGEN - The champion team of Dallinga/AEJ has already advanced to the semi-finals at the Dutch cup final last night. The tournament, which is played in the Koutershof in Rijsbergen, will finish in three sessions the preliminaries today (Saturday), then the four finalists perform tonight in the first part of the semi-finals. Frédéric Caudron was the unbeaten leader in the team of Dallinga with averages of 2.045 (against Forton) 1.773 (against Hofman) and 2.315 in his last performance of the day against Jef Philipoom. That match between the two frontmen of Dallinga and De Distel was played on a high level: 15-13 (5), 14-15 (10), 15-7 (4).
De Distel Biljarts was fighting for its last chance, but lost on all tables 2-1. Dick Jaspers defeated his fellow villageman Gerwin Valentijn with 2-1 (1.500/1.107), Eddy Merckx took the win against John Tijssens, who won the first set and Jean-Paul de Bruijn won after a poor start (lost set against Puck van Aart) with the same score.
Therefore, the winner in Group A is known: Dallinga recorded five match points out of three and 1.530 average. De Distel Biljarts is provisionally second with three match points (0.933), but must wait for today's match between Biljartcafé Jorissen and Ripa Recycling/Pearle. The Hague team, which is in third place with two match points, still needs a victory to move up to the semi-finals.
Group B is still completely open on the third day of the tournament with two full sessions to go and Pressplate Machielsen.fa as the leading contender for the final four. The home team won the important game against its main rival MCR/De Uitspanning 6-2 and gathered therefore four match points.

Prinsen triumphed in the other match of the second round against Van Wanrooy 8-0. Pressplate plays this afternoon (13.00) against Princen for placement. De Uitspanning does the same against Van Wanrooy.
The options are: three teams come to four match points when Prinsen beats Pressplate and De Uitspanning beats Van Wanrooy. Pressplate is the first by a win against Prinsen, De Uitspanning will qualify by a win against Van Wanrooy.
