Dani Sánchez is the man on fire since his World Cup's win

MUNICH - The bundesliga in three cushion has rarely seen a final rush as Dani Sánchez showed on Saturday in his first German match of the season. The Spaniard, who plays Marco Zanetti in the Munich team, won his match against Markus Galla 40-12 in 11 innings. But even more impressive than the score were his last three innings: 13, 0 and 14!! Markus Galla, who watched admiringly: ,,With this run of thirteen we entered the break..., then Dani missed once and finished the match with fourteen.''

The last World Cup's winner in Guri, who stayed a few weeks longer in South Korea and Japan and played the Japan Cup, and being on the hill with his best form, shows a huge confidence and shines with high runs. With his 27 caroms in three innings against GT Buer, Sánchez was the undisputed key player in the first round this weekend. Nick Polychronopoulos established high class with Bergisch Gladbacher and showed a blistering form with a victory in fourteen innings.

Today, Sunday, another four matches will be played in the fourth round of the bundesliga.

Bergisch Gladbacher tops the ranking after its victory on Saturday in the top match against BC Elversberg (6-2). The leader gathered the maximum six points and is followed by Munich and Magdeburg with five. BC Elversberg and Sterkrade are three points behind.

Bergisch owed the victory over Elversberg to Martin Horn (40-26 in 18 against Jef Philipoom), Nick Polychronopoulos (40-14 in 14 against Klaus Bosel) and Jens Eggers (40-32 in 37 against Volker Marx). The top match on center court, in a man-to-man battle between Torbjörn Blomdahl and Frédéric Caudron, was won by the Belgian 40-33 in 25 innings.

BC Magdeburg was superior in the match against BG Krefeld (8-0): Dick Jaspers was up against Thorsten Frings and set the tone (40-34 in 23), Dion Nelin did even better against Barry van Beers (40-36 in 20), Markus Schönhoff and Christian Zollner won in 40 and 44 innings. GT Buer went down without any chance against Munich, not only thanks to Dani Sanchez: Marco Zanetti won his match against Stefan Galla (40-36 in 30). Johann Schirmbrand and Christos Christodoulidis triumphed in 23 and 44 innings.

BCC Witten is still searching for its first victory this season. The home match against Sterkrade was lost 5-3, partly because Jean van Erp defeated Eddy Leppens (40-32 in 23) and Thomas Broux was the better against Ronny Lindemann (40-26 in 25).
Ravensburger lost another two match points: a 5-3 loss against Bottroper BA: Birol Uymaz played a draw against Christian Rudolph (40-40 in 25) and Can Capak defeated Anno de Kleine 40-31 at 24. Dustin Jäschke (in 50 innings) and Norbert Öhagen (51) were the match winners for Bottroper.

The schedule for Sunday:

Magdeburg-Sterkrade
GT Buer-Ravensburger
Witten-Krefeld
Bottroper-Munich.
