De Bondt and Dresselaerts in final match

LOMMEL - Andy de Bondt and Geoffrey Dresselaerts meet each other in the final of the juniors tournament during the Superprestige in Lommel. The two young talents advanced in the preliminary round with four players. Dylan Parent and Kenny Vander Mierde finished as number one and two in the under 19.

Most surprising was the elimination of Wesley van Apers, who reached to the stage of the junior European championship in Zevenbergen this year and has qualified for the World championship in Sluiskil. He lost his first two matches in Lommel, against Tomas Caluwaerts 25-15 (27 innings) and Andy de Bondt 25-19 in 28 innings.

Andy de Bondt had the best overall average of eight youth players: 0.724. He had a poor start in his first match against Geoffrey Dresselaerts but repaired in the second part and eventually won 25-22 in 41 innings.

Wesley van Apers recovered somewhat in the battle for third place against Thomas Caluwaerts (25-18 in 26).

Dylan Parent and Kenny Vander Mierde remained unbeaten in two rounds for players under 19. Dylan Parent first defeated Keanu Stitschinsky 15-9 in 26 innings and won his second match against Michael Parent 15-11 in 20 innings.
Kenny Vander Mierde qualified for the final by wins against Michael Parent (15-7 in 24) and Keanu Stitschinsky (15-4 in 23).
