Dick Jaspers showed himself a way too strong for Christian Rudolph: 40-12 in 17

ELVERSBERG/KREFELD - The two frontrunners in the German league made a misstep in the matches on Saturday. Both played a draw, but remain on top position with 21 points. BC Elversberg played without Frédéric Caudron and finished with a 4-4 against Bergisch Gladbach, BC Munich shared the profits with Krefeld. Therefor, BC Witten, the team with Eddy Leppens as the leader, is only one point behind after its win over GT Buer.

The best player in this round was not one of the leader's players. Dick Jaspers, playing for Magdeburg, Christian Rudolph in the away match against Bottroper with a big margin: 40-12 in 17 innings. Another notable result was Thorsten Frings' victory over Lütfi Cenet: 40-20 in 30 innings. Thanks to Ramazan Durdu's win over Christodoulidis, Krefeld surprised the leader BC Munich with a draw.

BC Elversberg lost one point against Bergisch Gladbach by the victory of Torbjörn Blomdahl over Jef Philipoom (40-28 in 32), Raspel won his match against Marx. Ruben Legazpi defeated Nikos Polychronopoulos in a very moderate match, 40-37 in 43 innings.

BCC Witten is only one point down after the victory over GT Buer. Eddy Leppens (bested Stefan Galla, 40-35 in 35), Jacob Haack Sörensen (defeated Markus Galla 40-27 in 24) and Ronny Lindemann (40-25 against Stefan Hetzel) perpetuated the title chances for Witten.

Today, Sunday, BCC Witten plays against Bottroper and BC Munich against Velbert. BC Elversberg has a day off.
