Dick Jaspers was in the eighth inning close to the world record match average.

BARENDRECHT - Dick Jaspers seemed on his way to the world record match average this afternoon. The record belongs to Frédéric Caudron, Marco Zanetti and Torbjörn Blomdahl, who finished a match of fifty caroms in nine innings. Caudron did it even two times.

Dick Jaspers had a score of 34 in seven innings in his match with his former teammate Christian Rudolph, when he started a long run. ,,I made ten points and thought that I would made the eleventh, but then my cue ball got a little kiss. That left me at 44 points in eight innings. I've tried to equal the world record, but I got a few difficult positions'', Jaspers said.

With final runs of zero, one and five Jaspers reached the fifty points in the eleventh inning with an average of 4.545. ,,It was fantastic to watch, but also so bad that he did'n break the world record'', teamcaptain Piet Luck smiled.

The record of fifty points in nine innings was made by Frédéric Caudron against Arie Weijenburg, Marco Zanetti against Frédéric Caudron, Frédéric Caudron against Jérémy Bury and Torbjörn Blomdahl against Christ van der Smissen.

Martin Horn also showed an excellent form. The German defeated Dave van Geel 50-34 in 19 innings.

There were a lot of surprises in the thirteenth session. Verbrugge, which is in last place, this afternoon defeated the team of DBL. Only Murat Naci Coklu won his match with Martin Spoormans.

Verbrugge's competitors in the lower regions are enriched with a point. The Vrachtkar succeeded even without Marco Zanetti to hold Snellen Recycling at 4-4.  The most remarkable result was the gain of Johan Loncelle at Roland Forthomme (50-16 in 25 innings). Peter Ceulemans won his match in the team of Snellen, Harry van de Ven also did, but Barry van Beers lost to a great playing Arno Peterson (50-28 in 23).

Crystal Kelly spoiled another point in his run with Van Donge and De Roo. Michael Nilsson had a better sprint than Frédéric Caudron (50-44 in 35) and Ronny Brants surprised Frans van Kuik. Only Raymond Ceulemans and Raimond Burgmans saved the number two on the ranking for a lost game.

Francis Forton had one of his famous peaks. The Belgian, who in the Kersttoernooi in Zundert lost all his matches glittered now in a great game against Eddy Merckx: 50-42 in 27.

Peter de Backer was the best man in the Delta team on Friday night in a duel duel for the twelfth round: 8-0 against Verbrugge. De Backer gave his compatriot Ronny Daniels no chance: 50-16 in 22. Jean Paul de Bruijn finished in his game against Henk Habraken (50-29) with a run of fourteen.
