Dick Jaspers starts with victory in Grand Prix

Dave Christiani lost his match, he finished on one carom against Peter Vlaar.

VLAARDINGEN - The victory of Dick Jaspers, in the second Grand Prix of this season, was of a higher level than the other matches on the first day, but who could expect anything else from the man who shows a shing form already for weeks. The first day of the Grand Prix in Vlaardingen, in het Oogh van Vlaerdingh, started with a few surprising results, but Jaspers won his match against Herman van Daalen without any problem: he finished his 50 caroms in seventeen innings.

Jaspers has been started in group A of the Grand Prix with Jan Arnouts, Rob Lamboo and Herman van Daalen. In his next match he meets Lamboo to qualify. Jan Arnouts defeated Lamboo 50-31 in 35 innings.

The most surprising reslt was the bad start of Glenn Hofmann, who lost against Frans van Schaik 50-35 in 37 innings. The young player has to win his next match against Jean van Erp, who won 50-19 against Eric van Hoorn.

The two finalists of the first Grand Prix in Amsterdam started the tournament with a defeat. Martin van de Spoel lost against Ad Koorevaar with only two caroms. Dave Christiani finished on one carom of Peter Vlaar, who finished in 45 innings.
