Dick Jaspers raises his hands into the air after his last carom against Dani Sánchez.

The hands into the air, on his face appeared a broad smile: Dick Jaspers certainly was the happiest man in the billiardroom in the Hilton hotel in Antwerp, celebrating last night the victory in the battle for the Super Cup against Dani Sánchez. The Spanish world champion and the Dutch holder of the World Cup 2010 played in a wonderful ambiance for the trophee and the bonus of 5000 euros. Jaspers won with 4,000 average (28 caroms in seven innings).

The match was scheduled over four winning sets of seven caroms and had a spectacular start. Dani Sanchez won the first set of seven from the breakshot, Jaspers responded in the second set also with seven from the breakshot, the third set ended up in 7-4 for Jaspers in three innings, in the fourth set Jaspers opened again with the maximum run of seven from the breakshot. When the Dutchman won the fifth set, 7-2 in two innings, the Super Cup fell into Dutch hands and Jaspers got a passionately applause by the spectators.

For the Dutchman it was his first victory in the ten years of the Super Cup. He played twice before in the final, losing in 2004 against Sánchez (4-2) and in 2008 against Marco Zanetti: 4-1.

Dani Sánchez won the Super Cup twice: in 2004 against Jaspers and in 2005 after penaltyshots against Frédéric Caudron.
