Jean van Erp, five wins on a row in Germany.

The Dutchman Jean van Erp and his team Bfrs Sterkrade after two wins climbed to second place behind Horster Eck. On the ninth day of the bundesliga the team yesterday won the away match against ATSV Erlangen 5-3. Horster Eck had a day off and remains the proud leader on the ranking. Sterkrade is three points behind.

,,We started the competition with the intention to remain in the highest league'', said Jean van Erp, after Saturday's win against Norbert Ohagen (50 points in 24 innings) and after the victory against Andreas Efler in the ninth tour. Thanks to those victories Sterkrade is the surprising number two of the ranking. Jean van Erp, who's celebrating his 37th birthday today, won his last five matches after two losses against Eddy Merckx and Eddy Leppens. The general average of the Dutchman so far is 1.541.

Roger Liere yesterday also showed himself a valuable player in the team. He made a run of twelve, the highest of the day.

BSV Helbert won his match in Munich. Jens Eggers defeated Norbert Ohagen 50-47. Henk Habraken was the only loser in the team of Helbert. Stefan Galla played a great match for BCC Witten. He defeated Andreas Kronlachner 50-42 in 30 innings.
