The Dutch federation will organize the team championships.

NIEUWEGEIN - The Royal Dutch Billard federation (KNBB) will organize at 24, 25 and 26 June in Sportscenter Merwestein in Nieuwegein the biggest billiard sport event of the year. In three days more than 500 matches will be played to come to the Dutch champions by teams.

There will be played for the finals of the national league and the second, third and fourth division of three-cushion. The Sports center Merwestein will be transformed with 28 billiards into a real billiard palace to form the decor for this national championship.

The teams in the final have remained from about 5,000 teams, which played in preliminary rounds and regional finals in the districts. The Simonis Billiard Sheets Finals, as the tournament is called, is seen by all team players as a wonderful end of the league season.

This edition of the final will have some additional activities, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the KNBB. The billiard room is equipped with banners, which to honor all Dutch world champions. All participants in the national finals will receive a small anniversary gift.

Besides the extra activities in the national finals, there will be some extra activities like a Dutch championship for company-teams, a referee tournament on Tuesday, June 28 and June 29 and a tournament for volunteers.

During the event there are artistic demonstrations by the Dutch top players in this discipline. On Saturday the world champion Sander Jonen will give a demonstration.
