Marco Zanetti is the defending title holder in three cushion

BRANDENBURG - The European billiards championship in all disciplines is certainly getting very close now. The organization of this mega-tournament, which was launched two years ago and was a great success, is preparing for the second edition. The European top of three cushion kicks off on April 24 and 25, in total 500 players will battle for ten days in the Stahlpalatz in Brandenburg an der Havel in the fight for the medals.

The men's three cushion players start the tournament, playing for 30.000 euros prize money. All the European world class players are at the start with the defending champion Marco Zanetti, Torbjörn Blomdahl, Frédéric Caudron, Eddy Merckx, Dick Jaspers and all the other star players.

The schedule is divided in ten days with a total of 880 games (539 at the match tables, 341 on the small table).

Xx Championships: a total of 18: 12 on the match table, 8 on the small table.

Xx Fourteen individual championships and four team championships (two for national teams, two for club teams).

Xx Two tournaments under 17, one under 19, three under 21 and twelve for senior players.

The organization is working with 63 referees: 16 from Germany, 12 from the Netherlands, 13 from Belgium, 10 from France, 6 from Spain, 6 from Italy.

46 referees will be at the tables for ten days.

Three cushion on the small table (individual) includes the most matches: 121. Followed by three cushion for club teams with 110 and three-cushion individually for seniors with 79 games.
