SCHILTIGHEIM - Four wins out of four in the semi finals, Dick Jaspers, who's playing on a very high level already for three matches, Dani Sánchez who is steadily improving, Rui Costas, who's so hard to beat and the young Joao Ferreira as a very strong fourth man.
FC Porto won his semi final match against Andernos tonight: 8-0. The Portuguese team seem to be ready for the challenge match in the final against Agipi tomorrow. The team averages in the semifinals were not so far from each other. Agipi played 1.568 general against Clichy, FC Porto totalized 1.441 against Andernos.
Dick Jaspers showed again to be the proud leader of his team with three victories so far. In the semi finals he defeated Roland Forthomme with a big margin: 40-23 in sixteen innings.
Dani Sánchez, better and better to the end, left Peter De Backer behind at 40-31 in 29 innings. Rui Costa won 40-33 (37) against Francis Connesson and Joao Ferreira defeated the French champion Jérôme Barbeillon 40-34 in 28 innings.
The results promise a thrilling final in the arena where Agipi last year won the trophee against Caseta Nova and where the duel between Agipi and FC Porto starts at 14.00 tomorrow with the matches Jérémy Bury against Joao Ferreira and at the other table Rui Costa against Jean Christoph Roux.
The main players will meet at 16.00: Frédéric Caudron-Dick Jaspers and Marco Zanetti-Dani Sánchez.
The outcome is not predictable in advance: Caudron and Jaspers are both able to win, Costa can certainly beat Roux. The routined Bury might be a little more favorite in his match against Ferreira, but Sánchez, when he's on his best, can win against Zanetti, however, the Italian can always grow above himself in his own arena, especially when the team needs a great performance.
