LAUSANNE - The two Koreans, who started as favorites, finished as winners in the Lausanne Billard Masters new style. The tournament was played by two-player teams under 25 per confederation. The Asians with Myung Woo Cho and Jun-hyuk Son fully lived up to the leading role. The tournament was played by four teams. The European formation finished second, with the Africans beating America for third place.

Myung Woo Cho was the undisputed star of the three-day tournament. Ranked 16th in the world, he clearly made the difference against the 7 other players. Backed by Jun-hyuk Son, Cho and the Asian team first won the three group matches in a 50-point formula where the individual game was mixed through 2 stages of 15 points and then played according to the Scotch Double for the final 20 points.

The Asians beat CPB of Cristian Henao and Camilo Galvis 50-17 in 32(1,562), the Europeans with Nikolaus Kogelbauer and Muhemmed Mustapha Kilic 50-42 in 37(1,351) and the Africans with Mahmoud Ayman and Kyrollos Gerges 50-35 in 41/40(1,219). The CEB team managed to win its other two matches against CPB 50-45 in 61/60 and against AMECC 50-47 in 75/74. That put the two CEB players in 2nd place in the group to reach the finals against the Asians.

After the preliminary rounds, Asia's supremacy was already evident with an overall average 1.363. The other three teams all played around 0.800.

The final between Asians and Europe took a quick turn after singles: 16-9 after the No 1 players, 31-19 after the No 2 players and then 50-34 in 38/37 at the end of the final.
