Pedro Piedrabuena showed his title dreams against Luis Aveiga: 40-35, 2.222 average

MEDELLIN - The final battle at the Pan American championship turns out into a fight between five Colombians, the American titleholder Pedro Piedrabuena, the Ecuadorian Javier Terán and Peruvian veteran Ramon Rodriguez. These eight players survived in Medellin, Colombia the eighth finals. The most beautiful and attractive match was the fight between Pedro Piedrabuena and Luis Aveiga: the American champion showed himself the best in the thrilling race and won 40-35 in eighteen innings, averages 2.222/1.944.

Javier Terán from Ecuador also showed the audience that he is one of the contenders for the overall win with a victory over Luis Martinez, who was until now one of the stars in the tournament. Terán set a blistering pace and left his opponent far behind, finishing 40-19 (run 11) in 25 innings.

The six Colombian players in the quarterfinals are Andrés Lizarazo, Robinson Morales, Huberney Catano, Jose Juan Garcia and Henry Diaz. The junior world champion Juan Jose Garcia is the revelation of the Pan Americans so far. He defeated in the eighth finals Luis Lopez (40-12 in 37) and came to the last eight with a victory over Juan Pablo Sisterna from Argentina (40-29 in 30).

Fernando Diaz and Andre Lizarazo came together through the finish (40-40 in 41); Lizarazo won the penalty shootout. Ramon Rodriguez is back into the tournament after his poor start in the group phase. In the match against Julian Torres, one of the players at the World championship in Antwerpen, the Peruvian kicked off with a win: 40-32 in 37.

Robinson Morales keeps the form he already shows through over the whole year. The Colombian won a tournament earlier in Chile this year with a South American record run of twenty and won the final against Luis Aveiga. In the second round of the Pan Americans, Robinson defeated Alejandro Piza with 40-36 in 26 Huberney Catano defeated the Chilean Guido Saco with sounding numbers:.. 40-19 in 27, Series 11, Henry Diaz his countryman Carlos Campino 40-33 in 26 turns.
