TOKYO - The billiards world has lost one of its icons: the former Asian and Japanese president Mr. Gaku Nishio, who passed away these days. The UMB websites writes:
Dear Sports Friends,
It is with great sadness that we received the terrible news that Mr. Gaku Nishio passed away today, November 21st, 2017. The Billiards Community lost a great man and an icon who devoted his life to our sport. President of the Nippon Billiards Association and Asian Carom Billiards Confederation for many decades, and Honorary Vice-President of the Uniion Mondiale de Billard, were only a few titles accorded to his devotion for our Sport.
Mr. Nishio contributed, with passion and love during his life, greatly, to the International Development of Billiards, not only in Asia but Worldwide.
He will remain forever in our heart and our thoughts. The Union Mondiale de Billard expresses its condolences and wishes of strength and resignation to the family and friends, sharing their moments of sadness.
