The six Belgians who played the tournament in Brussels

BRUSSELS - Six Belgian top players and five billiard ladies were invited to provide a demonstration of their talents in the Koninklijke Biljartkring Leopold in Brussels. The evening was organized as a propaganda for three cushion in Brussels. The town wants to candidate itself for a world championship in the upcoming years.

Two groups of three players in the men event, with Roland Forthomme, Eddy Merckx and Eddy Leppens and in the other group Frédéric Caudron, Peter Ceulemans and Peter De Backer were battling for a place in the final between the winners of the two groups.

Roland Forthomme won his group by beating both Eddy Leppens and Eddy Merckx, thirty points in 16 and 14 innings.
Peter de Backer started with a draw against Frédéric Caudron in 24 innings and continued with a win over Peter Ceulemans. The contest Caudron-Ceulemans ended in a draw in 13 innings.

The final turned out into an easy victory for Roland Forthomme, who beat his Andernos teammate Peter De Backer in 29 innings. Forthomme took an overall average of 1.695.

In the women's tournament, Forthomme's girlfriend Karina Jetten was the winner with victories over Jessica Yeo Sukyung, Danielle Le Bruyn and Karolien Matthys.

In the final match, the Dutch was again facing Danielle le Bruyn: Jetten won 20-12 in 22 innings averaging 0.878.
