Cédric Melnytschenko won his match with the veteran Francis Connesson.

ANDERNOS - On Monday morning in Schiltigheim he stepped into the car of friends from Liege, that evening Roland Forthomme had to play in Lovendegem against Frédéric Caudron for the Belgian league. Hij was not really in a good mood at the end of the Agipi Masters, where he lost three of four games and in his last match he wasted an almost certain victory against Filipos Kasidokostas.

,,This evening I play to Fred Caudron, the next morning I step on the plane to Andernos for a match in the French league'', he said on Monday before his departure. ,,That's the life of an artist eh'', replied one of his friends.

With his team of KBC Zanzibar, one of the contenders to the title in Belgium, he did'nt have a chance to beat Caudron, who won 50-33, Forthomme was hardly involved. But last night in Andernos, he suddenly got his good feeling against Peter Ceulemans. Forthomme won 50-26 in 24 innings, an average of 2.083.

Andernos and Albert, far away from Agipi, the leader in the rankings shared the points in their match. Marc Boingneres also won for Andernos in his match against Olivier Jonard (50-46), but the other two matches were won by Albert. Cédric Melnytschenko defeated the veteran Francis Connesson 50-31 in 34 innings and Kurt Ceulemans was slightly earlier at the finish than Peter de Backer (50-43 in 47 innings).
