Glenn Hofman booked a valuable win for Buffalo

BREDA/SLUISKIL - Buffalo.nl bouncing back, both leaders recording maximum wins. Those were the most noteworthy happenings in this round of the Dutch Buffalo League. The sixteenth round was not one of tension-filled matches. Only Bousema Lochem and TOVV/RoyalPro went toe to toe, TOVV having the last laugh with a 5-3 victory. Eureka Billard and Medisch Centrum Breda both had maximum 8-0 wins, over TOVV 2 and Burgman Biljarts respectively. It means they still share the lead, with 24 points from 16 matches. Dallinga.com and HCR Prinsen now share third place. These two met in Sluiskil, and Prinsen recorded a surprisingly comfortable win: 8-0.

Eureaka, MC Breda, Buffalo and HCR Prinsen all won by 8-0, and  A1 Biljarts had almost done the same on Saturday evening (7-1) when they defeated Topteam Eekhoorn. Dick Jaspers was the best player against Jean Paul de Bruijn, 40-36 in 17. Jelle Pijl, Anno de Kleine and Raymund Swertz completed the rare punishment of Dallinga in their own home. The team from Zeeland had a proper excuse: their Belgians Frédéric Caudron and Steven van Acker were absent due to the Belgian Nationals.

For Eureka Billard, John Tijssen was the best winner against Ger Windt:  40-27 in 21. Raimond Burgman did almost as well against Sander Jonen: 40-17 in 22. Medisch Centrum Breda had the last word in all four matches against Burgmans Biljarts, 8-0. It was the meeting of the high runs: Roland Forthomme 15, Rik van Beers 13 and Thorsten Frings 11.

Eddy Merckx and Martien van der Spoel did well for A1 with emphatic victories over Frans van Kuyk (40-17 in 22) and Kenny Miatton (40-16 in 23). In the Buffalo - 't Hartje match, the loss of both Turkish players stood out. Glenn Hofman won against Tayfun Tasdemir (40-31 in 25), Jean van Erp defeated Savas Bulut (40-20 in 19).

The foreign players employed by Bousema and TOVV made it an entertaining afternoon in Lochem: Nikos Polychronopoulos won his battle against Murat Naci Coklu 40-33 in 27, Birol Uymaz and Stefan Galla shared the win (40-40 in 29).
