Francis Forton makes highest run in Dutch league

ENSCHEDE - Francis Forton has improved the best run in the Dutch league this year. The Belgian made a run of eighteen in his match with Christian Rudolph in the Twente stadium in Enschede. The match nevertheless was won by Rudolph 50-47 in 31 innings.

Forton is a man with ups and downs this year. He also played a marvellous match in a VES tournament in Belgium, where he finished a match of 40 points against Johan Loncelle in ten innings and made a run of 21.

The run of eighteen is a record in the Dutch league so far. Jean Paul de Bruijn made a sixteen in his match with Delta against Twentevisie. In the Dutch league there were more high runs this weekend. Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Merckx faced each other and played a great match. Caudron won 50-42 in 16, he made a run of 14, Merckx of 13. Johan Loncelle and Wesley de Jaeger made runs of eleven.
