Frédéric Caudron, another special week

SLUISKIL - In the days before Frédéric Caudron makes his trip to the World Cup in Hurghada, the Belgian tortures his opponents in the Netherlands and in Belgium as seldom seen. The unleashed Caudron, just dethroned as the number one at the world ranking by Dick Jaspers, on the first day of a double weekend in the Netherlands was many classes to strong for Eddy Leppens. Caudron won 50-11 in eighteen innings after a 40-4 score at the end of the match.

He led the team of Crystal Kelly to an 8-0 victory over the Delta team, that's playing a very disappointing competiton. Also Frans van Kuijk (runs of 11, 8 and 7), Raimond Burgman and Raymond Ceulemans were successful for the team that's second on the ranking behind champion Van Donge en De Roo.

The shape of Frederic Caudron is outstanding in the days before his departure for Egypt. This week he also played two great matches in the VES-tournament in Sint Niklaas, where he beat first Martin Spoormans (40-20) and then Francis Forton (40-14) in a record tempo.
The victory over Forton was certainly special, because Forton had given in the hours therefore a great performance against John Loncelle. The Brussels player ended the match after ten innings with a score of 40-3, Loncelle then made eight points in the equalizer.

Frédéric Caudron yesterday flet not any compassion doing his job against his friend Eddy Leppens, the vice world champion in this year behind Daniel Sánchez, but after that tournament he has a relapse. Jean Paul de Bruijn is not able to win matches in three cushions, however he is in a great shape in one cushion. in which disciplin he finished a match of one hundred points in one inning last week. Frans van Kuyk, his opponent yesterday, shined with runs of 11, 8 and 7 and beat De Bruijn easily.

Dick Jaspers after his record match last week (50 in fifteen innings) again was the best man for the champion. He defeated Murat Naci Coklu, his Turkish opponent, 50-29 in 19 innings. Torbjörn Blomdahl, Martin Horn and Jean van Erp signed for the 8-0 win against Holland Mineral DBL.
Snellen Recycling keeps surprising in this league. The team with Roland Forthomme as captain had nothing to fear from A1 Biljarts (8-0). Forthomme kept his opponent Michael Nilsson (one of the best players in the qualifying rounds in the Agipi Masters last month) almost the entire party on his chair: 50-14 in 25. Harrie van der Ven as well as Forthomme rose above the average of two, he beat Addie Wienk 50-19 in 23 innings.
The team of Eddy Merckx, TOVV.NL / MCR, surprised Dekker Keukens with a 6-2 victory. Merckx himself beat Philipoom with a small difference (50-46). John Tijssens was the only winner for Dekker Keukens.
De Vrachtkar left the last place by defeating Twentevisie. Marco Zanetti played an important role as captain of the team by defeating Christian Rudolph.

Today the next round will be played.
