3-Cushion
SLUISKIL - The Press conference for the World championship in Sluiskil, held from 20-24 October, was the place where the Golden book of three cushion was presented. Frits Bakker, the author and composer of the book, handed over the first edition together with the mascotte of the tournament to the greatest player ever, Raymond Ceulemans. The Belgian legend is the most remarkable player in the history with twenty world titles in three cushion and more than a hundred other championships.
The Golden book is a beautiful collection of interviews with Ceulemans, Dick Jaspers, Frédéric Caudron, Torbjörn Blomdahl and Filippos Kasidokostas. There are a lot of brilliant pictures of all top players, a story about the federations from the beginning of history, told by Jean Claude Dupont, the president of the UMB. And the book is a collection of all results and reports about the World championships and results of European, Asian and South American championships in three cushion.

The press conference was given for the explanation about the rules, the composition of the groups and the location of the tournament in Sluiskil. A lot of prominents were present, like Jean Claude Dupont, Farouk Barky, the sportsdirector, mr. Santos Chocron, national president three cushion in the Netherlands, the former Dutch football international Willem van Hanegem and the billiard players Raymond Ceulemans and Dick Jaspers.
